Is the redaction really permanent?
Yes. Marked pages are rebuilt from scratch, so the text and images under the black boxes are removed from the file, not just hidden. Pages without marks keep their original text. Each export is then checked automatically: page text, raw file bytes, OCR of the black areas, metadata, annotations and earlier revisions. You can save the report.
Are my documents uploaded anywhere?
No. AI, OCR, redaction and translation run on your device. The app has no account and no analytics. The only optional exception is Apple Private Cloud Compute for very long documents on macOS 27. It’s off unless you turn it on, and Apple states that this data isn’t stored or accessible to Apple.
Which devices support the AI features?
AI summaries and Ask this PDF need macOS 26 or iOS/iPadOS 26 on a device that supports Apple Intelligence, with Apple Intelligence turned on. Translation needs macOS 15 or iOS/iPadOS 18. On other devices the app shows key sentences from the document instead (no AI). Everything else, including redaction, OCR, signing, compression and organising, works on every supported Mac, iPhone and iPad.
Is the signature a legal digital signature?
It’s a simple electronic signature: your drawn, typed or imported signature placed on the page. It isn’t a certificate-based digital signature (PAdES). For many everyday agreements a simple electronic signature is enough, but check what your document needs.
What do I get for the price?
Everything, on Mac, iPhone and iPad. It’s a one-time purchase with every feature included, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no usage limits and no watermarks.
Can AI summaries be wrong?
Yes, summaries can contain errors. That’s why every point and answer links to the page it came from, so you can check the source in one click.
